Ice Hockey New Zealand the latest sport to adopt Integrity Code

02 March 2026

Ice Hockey New Zealand is the latest member of Aotearoa New Zealand’s sport and recreation sector to deepen their commitment to integrity in sport and sign up to the Code of Integrity for Sport and Recreation (Integrity Code).

From Sunday 1 March 2026, Ice Hockey New Zealand and its members are formally bound by the Integrity Code and will continue working towards full compliance with its standards. The Integrity Code sets out minimum standards to help sport and recreation organisations prevent and respond to threats to integrity and create safe and fair environments for all participants.

“Integrity is at the heart of our sport, and adopting the Integrity Code gives us a clear framework to protect everyone who plays, coaches or volunteers in ice hockey,” said Paris Heyd, General Manager of Ice Hockey New Zealand.

“We are proud to adopt the Integrity Code and further commit to creating a safe and inclusive environment across all levels of the game.”

Rebecca Rolls, Chief Executive of the Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui, also celebrated the milestone.

“We are pleased to welcome Ice Hockey New Zealand to the Integrity Code whānau.

"Their adoption of the Code reflects a genuine commitment to integrity across their sport,” she said.

Ice Hockey New Zealand is the fourth organisation to adopt the Integrity Code, joining NZ Esports Federation (August 2025), Scouts Aotearoa (November 2025), and Weightlifting New Zealand (February 2026).
