Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui is part of an international effort to protect the integrity of the Rugby League World Cup 2026 as members of the Australian Match-Fixing Task Force.
The Task Force was established by Sport Integrity Australia in 2025 and brings together sports, law enforcement, government, wagering providers and integrity partners to prevent, deter and disrupt match-fixing activities. It has a specific focus on the World Cup, which will be held across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea from 15 October to 15 November 2026.
As the organisation responsible for promoting safe and fair sport and recreation in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Commission has a key role in protecting sport from corruption and competition manipulation, including match-fixing.
Commission Chief Executive Rebecca Rolls said participation in the Task Force reflects the importance of international collaboration in protecting the integrity of sport.
"Match-fixing and corruption in sport do not respect borders. Working alongside our Australian counterparts helps build our collective ability to identify emerging threats and respond effectively.
“Taking part in this collaboration strengthens our capability to prevent, detect and respond to integrity threats here in Aotearoa New Zealand, both during major international events and across our domestic sporting environment."
The Task Force supports information-sharing, coordinated risk assessment, education initiatives and integrity planning to help protect athletes, officials, coaches and sporting competitions from match-fixing and related corruption.
